Nakabayashi Gochiku is a calligrapher of the late Edo to Meiji period, from the Hizen country. His name is Takatsune, nom de plume is Shitatsu, and pseudonym is Gochiku. This was written on his 77th birthday in 1903, and offered to Emperor Meiji. The size and form of each character and the arrangement of lines show his genius talent.(「New Edition Grace, Beauty and Inqenuity-Masterpices of the Museum of Imperial Collections, Sannomaru Shozokan Vol.2」2003)
