A gift from the Empress (Empress Dowager Shoken) to the Crown Prince (Emperor Taisho), on the occasion of Rittaishi-rei (Ceremonial Investiture of the Crown Prince) in 1889. Two types of Japanese Yellow Roses, double petalled and single petalled, and young pines at a river bank are depicted in taka-makie, which can be considered to be the theme of a waka poem.（「Auspicious Events of the Meiji Period The History of the Imperial Household in the Modern Age」2018)
