Pines on the Shore
Pines on the Shore
Originally from the Prince Katsura family. In the restoration, writing under the surface paper stating that this screen was mounted in 1605 was discovered, and an ink writing on the outer frame stating that this screen was painted by Kaiho Yusho, fixed the painter and date. Within friendship with Prince Toshihito, who was proficient in waka poetry amd other classics, Yusho created this Yamatoe screen painting with lucid colors and stylish composition, differing from his former ink paintings.(「Passing Art works to the Future」2013)
